laplandicebreaker.com compares the passenger icebreaker cruises on the northern Gulf of Bothnia: the Sampo and the Arktis from Kemi in Finland, and the Polar Explorer and the Arctic Explorer from Axelsvik in Sweden. It is an independent site and not the website of either operator.

Who is behind this site

The site is run by Patrick Kühne, an independent travel publisher based in Markkleeberg near Leipzig, Germany, who also runs guides to other day trips around Rovaniemi. One person reads the listings and the operators’ terms, writes the pages and answers the e-mails.

What this site does

The two operators each present their own ships. This site puts all four side by side: harbour and country, where the bus picks you up, how long you are on board, how long the whole day takes, and from what height children can float. Bookings go through the booking platform; we do not take reservations.

How we earn money

When you book a cruise through one of our links, GetYourGuide pays us a commission out of its own margin. Your price does not change. No operator pays to be listed, and the tables are sorted by number of reviews or by price, never by commission.

Where our data comes from
